Shane
Hello I’m Shane, a Physiotherapist and Athletic Therapy graduate from County Meath, Ireland. I graduated from the MSc Physiotherapy programme at University College Cork in 2020. I worked for 2 years in an acute hospital in Ireland where I gained experience in several clinical areas including orthopaedics, MSK outpatients and care of the older person. I moved to Auckland 2 years ago where I have continued to pursue my interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy,
working in private clinics and with local rugby teams.
As a physio, I am very passionate in educating people around the complexities that come with pain & injury and helping them return to the things they love doing. I have a strong background in exercise-based rehabilitation, and I like to combine these rehabilitation skills with practical advice and manual therapy to help people achieve their goals and return to an optimal level of
function. In the clinic, I love treating a wide range of sporting and life related injuries with a special interest in ACL rehabilitation and other post-surgical cases, tendon injuries and low back pain.
Outside of work, I love staying active in my spare time. Alongside playing Gaelic football and running, my move to New Zealand as led to me taking up surfing, golf, tennis, AFL and squash. On weekends, I like hanging out with friends and going away on hiking/camping trips.
